Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 1 cup fresh spinach, finely chopped
- 1 cup shredded white cheddar cheese
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- Optional: 1 tbsp Dijon mustard or mayo for added flavor
- Optional for serving: burger buns, lettuce, tomato slices, red onion, condiments of choice
Instructions
- Finely chop the spinach. Optional: sauté for 1–2 minutes to reduce moisture.
- In a large bowl, mix ground chicken, spinach, white cheddar, garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, pepper, onion powder, and optional mustard or mayo until just combined.
- Divide mixture into 4 portions and shape into patties about 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick.
- Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium heat, lightly oil, and cook patties 5–6 minutes per side until cooked through (165°F/74°C).
- Toast burger buns if desired, assemble with toppings and serve.
Notes
Avoid overmixing to keep burgers juicy. For a low-carb option, skip the bun and use lettuce wraps. Add jalapeños or cayenne for a spicy kick. Burgers store well for up to 3–4 days in the fridge or 2 months in the freezer.
