- 3 ripe bananas
- 1/3 cup melted butter (unsalted)
- 3/4 cup sugar (white, brown, or a mix)
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- Pinch of salt
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- Optional: 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
- Optional: 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- Optional: 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- Mash bananas in a large mixing bowl using a fork until smooth.
- Add melted butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla. Mix until well combined.
- Sprinkle in baking soda and salt, then gently stir in flour. Do not overmix.
- Fold in chocolate chips, nuts, or cinnamon if using.
- Spread the batter evenly into the prepared loaf pan.
- Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Use very ripe bananas for maximum sweetness. Don’t overmix the batter. Try variations like chocolate chips, nuts, or cinnamon for extra flavor.
