Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (nonfat or full-fat both work)
- 1 cup self-rising flour (or see tip to make your own)
- 1 egg (for egg wash — optional)
- Optional toppings: everything bagel seasoning, sesame seeds, poppy seeds, sea salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
- In a medium bowl, combine the self-rising flour and Greek yogurt. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
- Lightly flour a surface and knead the dough for 1–2 minutes until smooth. If sticky, add a bit more flour.
- Cut the dough into 4 equal parts. Roll each into a rope and shape into a bagel, pinching ends together.
- Beat the egg and brush over the tops (optional).
- Sprinkle with toppings like everything seasoning or sesame seeds.
- Place on baking sheet and bake for 20–25 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through.
- Let cool on a wire rack for 5–10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Add extra flour if the dough is too sticky. For a crispier crust, let the bagels cool in the oven with the door slightly open.
