Golden fried strawberry cheesecake sandwiches with cream cheese filling and fresh strawberries

Fried Strawberry Cheesecake Sandwiches

Imagine golden, crispy bread filled with rich, creamy cheesecake and sweet, juicy strawberries—then lightly fried to warm, gooey perfection. These Fried Strawberry Cheesecake Sandwiches are a playful twist on your favorite dessert and comfort food all in one.

  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 4 sandwiches (8 small servings) 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 slices of white or brioche bread
  • 4 oz (half a block) of cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar (plus more for dusting)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons butter (for frying)
  • Optional: whipped cream or chocolate drizzle for serving

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  2. Lay out 4 slices of bread. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over each. Top with sliced strawberries, then place another slice of bread on top to form a sandwich.
  3. In a shallow bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, and cinnamon (if using).
  4. Carefully dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, coating both sides evenly. Let any excess drip off.
  5. Heat butter in a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Place sandwiches in the skillet and cook for 2–3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove from skillet and let cool slightly. Dust with powdered sugar, and serve with whipped cream or a drizzle of chocolate, if desired.

Notes

Use fresh strawberries for the best burst of flavor. Softened cream cheese spreads easier. Day-old bread helps the sandwich hold up better when dipped and fried. Wipe the skillet between batches to avoid burnt butter. Try variations like using different fruits, adding mini chocolate chips or nuts, or swapping in dairy-free alternatives.
