Fried Cheese-Stuffed Doritos Recipe

Outrageously cheesy, extra crispy, and totally addictive, Fried Cheese-Stuffed Doritos are the ultimate snack mashup. Gooey melted cheese is sandwiched between bold Doritos, then fried to golden perfection. Perfect for game day, parties, or whenever you’re feeling snacky!

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 45 as a snack or appetizer 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bag of Doritos (any flavor – Nacho Cheese or Cool Ranch work great)
  • 68 slices of mozzarella cheese (or any melty cheese like cheddar or pepper jack)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1½ cups seasoned breadcrumbs
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola oil work best)
  • Optional: Jalapeño slices or hot sauce
  • Optional: Garlic powder or paprika for coating

Instructions

  1. Match Doritos into pairs of similar size to make sandwiches and set aside.
  2. Cut cheese slices to fit the Doritos and place between each pair, pressing gently.
  3. Place stuffed Doritos on a tray and freeze for 20–30 minutes.
  4. Set up a breading station with three bowls: one with flour, one with whisked eggs and milk, and one with breadcrumbs.
  5. Dip each frozen sandwich in flour, then egg mixture, then breadcrumbs. Repeat egg and breadcrumb coating for extra crunch.
  6. Heat oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Fry each stuffed Dorito for 1–2 minutes per side or until golden brown. Don’t overcrowd the pan.
  8. Drain on a paper towel-lined plate and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Freeze before frying to keep the cheese intact. Try with different Doritos flavors and cheeses. Air fryer alternative: cook at 375°F for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway.
