  • 1 large egg
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ tsp salt

  • Optional: Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, add flour, salt, sweetened condensed milk, egg, and the yeast mixture. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Add the softened butter and knead until the dough is smooth and elastic—about 8–10 minutes by hand or 5 minutes with a stand mixer.
  4. Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a towel or plastic wrap, and let rise for 1–1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the dough and shape into a loaf or rolls. Place in a greased loaf pan or baking dish.
  6. Cover and let rise again for 30–45 minutes, until puffy.
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
  8. Optional: While still warm, brush the top with a little extra sweetened condensed milk for a shiny, sweet finish.
  9. Let the bread cool for at least 10–15 minutes before slicing. Enjoy warm or at room temp!
