  • 1 small yellow onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces uncooked spaghetti (broken in half if needed)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil or parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot or deep skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain excess fat if needed.
  3. Stir in diced onion and cook for 2–3 minutes until softened. Add garlic, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook for 1 minute.
  4. Add marinara sauce, beef broth, and heavy cream. Stir to combine.
  5. Break spaghetti in half and add to the pot. Submerge in the liquid and bring to a boil.
  6. Reduce heat to a simmer, cover, and cook for 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally until pasta is tender and sauce thickens.
  7. Stir in mozzarella and Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy.
  8. Top with fresh basil or parsley if desired. Serve hot.

Notes

You can swap ground beef for turkey, chicken, or sausage. Add vegetables like spinach or mushrooms for variety. Use gluten-free pasta if needed.
