Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box yellow cake mix (15.25 oz)
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup toffee bits (like Heath bits)
- Optional: 1/2 cup chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts)
- Optional: Sprinkle of sea salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine cake mix, eggs, and melted butter. Stir until a thick dough forms.
- Spread dough evenly into the prepared pan and press down with fingers or spoon.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips and toffee bits over the top. Gently press them into the surface.
- Bake for 22–25 minutes, until edges are golden and center is set.
- Let cool completely before slicing into bars.
- Optional: Refrigerate for 15 minutes before slicing for cleaner cuts.
Notes
Swap the cake mix for different flavors, add nuts for crunch, or drizzle sweetened condensed milk for extra gooeyness. Stores well at room temp, fridge, or freezer.
